In this frantic pace of life, you need to stop a little and … finally relax. Personally, calm music and aromatic baths help me with this. How to take them correctly? I will talk about this in this article. It is not surprising that the famous Cleopatra was always beautiful and looked youthful - after all, she took a bath with the addition of rose oil every day. And why are we worse than her? Our ancestors very practically used the healing properties of infusions, oils and decoctions. Beauty recipes were passed down from generation to generation, people appreciated the full value of essential oils, learned how to properly prepare aromatic baths with them, recharged and were again full of energy. So what's the right way to do this?

How to take aromatic baths:

  1. Don't put a lot of essential oil in your bath, because too much is not better. It also damages the bath enamel. It will be enough to add only 3-4 drops, and not immediately into the water, but after mixing it with some base, for example, with milk, honey, kefir, cream or almond oil. From experience I will say that it is most convenient to use sea salt: for this, wrap 4 tbsp in a linen bag. tablespoons of salt, add 4 drops of essential oil there, shake a little and immerse in water.
  2. The water temperature should not be more than 38 degrees. If it is too hot, you will start to sweat, and this harms the beneficial substances more actively to penetrate into the pores. If there is no thermometer, look at the mirror. It is foggy - it means you need to add a little cold water.
  3. The duration of the procedure is no more than 20 minutes, excessive exposure can damage your health.
  4. You can not eat before the bathroom - have dinner for 1, 5-2 hours.
  5. What not to do during the procedure: use shampoos, gels, soaps. The substances contained in the composition of cosmetics nullify all the benefits. It is better to wash in advance.
  6. As soon as you get out of the aroma bath, do not wipe yourself dry, it is better to put on a warm robe or wrap yourself in a towel. No vigorous activity, your body should rest well and relax. If you are awake, listen to music, read a book, or drink herbal tea (for example, from lingonberry leaves).

Are there any contraindications for aromatic baths? It may seem to someone that 3-4 drops will not solve anything, but this is not so. Even in trace amounts, they have a strong therapeutic effect. If you have a serious illness, then you should be careful and consult a doctor. These include:

  • oncological diseases
  • epilepsy
  • angina
  • diabetes
  • cardiac ischemia
  • cirrhosis of the liver
  • weeping mycoses
  • dermatitis
  • acute inflammatory processes (pneumonia, bronchitis, etc.)
  • chronic hepatitis
  • thrombophlebitis
  • glomerulonephritis

During pregnancy, you should be careful with juniper, jasmine, geranium, mint oils.

In the postpartum period, you can take baths no earlier than after 4 weeks.

For nursing mothers, it is useful to add rose petals, chamomile, lavender.

Irritation and fatigue

  1. Add 3-4 drops of lavender oil to the bath. It helps to calm down, restores strength, and eliminates insomnia. After suffering stress and nervous breakdowns, frankincense, sandalwood, rose, geranium oils (2-3 drops each) help well.
  2. If you run out of energy and you need to cheer up properly, then use citrus fruits. Note that perfumes with a citrus scent are good for invigorating, "revitalizing" and filling with positive energy. Sage, verbena, rosemary also increase the tone of the body.

For a good mood

To recharge yourself with positive emotions for tomorrow, add sandalwood or ylang-ylang oil to the aromatic bath.

Against muscle tension

This is especially true for athletes or people doing hard physical work or working in the gym. So, you can prepare this bath for your husband after a hard day! Use a mixture of verbena and ginger or lemon balm and cinnamon or peppermint and juniper oils. Take a couple of drops each.

To keep warm

Such a bath can be taken with pleasure in the cold season or when it is difficult to warm your feet. For this purpose, you should take essential oils of lemon, thyme, pine. If the whole body hurts or joints ache, cedar will help.

Before a romantic evening

If you are going on a date or are going to spend an unforgettable evening with your beloved, then add neroli, patchouli, ylang-ylang oil. They will help to discard all vain thoughts, tune in the right mood and give the skin a pleasant scent.
