Ingredients:

  • Finely ground corn grits - 320 g
  • Eggs - 3 pcs.
  • Milk - 400 ml
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • Dates - 200 g
  • Vegetable oil - 150 ml
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp.
  • Soda - 1 tsp

Corn flour is not so easy to find, so use finely ground cereals for baking. If you have a coffee grinder, grind the flour additionally before use. Mix sugar with corn flour.

Add vegetable oil to cereals and mix. The main thing to remember about the oil in this, and any baking, take odorless oil. Best of all, cold-pressed olive has proven itself.

Add milk and mix.

Now you can cook the porridge. Bring it to a boil, reduce the heat and cook until the porridge begins to thicken. As you can see in the photo, drops from a spoon remain on the surface of the porridge. It took us 7 minutes for the porridge to reach the desired consistency.

Pour the brewed porridge into a bowl, or leave it in a saucepan if it is large. And we give it time to cool down. When it cools enough, introduce the eggs, beat well. The dough becomes thinner, this is normal.

Finally, add the chopped dates and stir again.

Pour the dough into a mold. We took a silicone mold lubricated with a little oil.

We bake the pie in the oven preheated to 190 degrees for 40–45 minutes. You can check the readiness of the cake with a match, if the match comes out dry, then the cake is baked.
