Find out how professional athletes in various sports deal with pain and what drugs are used. Nimesulide (Nise) belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and, unlike most analogs, has the ability to selectively inhibit a special isoform of cyclooxygenase CTC-2. However, it does not affect the physiological form of this substance - COX-1. This drug was the first selective COX-2 inhibitor developed by scientists.

Since most of the analogs of the drug simultaneously inhibit both isoforms of cyclooxygenase, the range of their use is significantly reduced, since they have a negative effect on the digestive system and can cause a number of side effects. Also, among the advantages of using Nise or Nimesulide in sports and bodybuilding, it is necessary to highlight the non-acidic nature of the drug. As a result, it is much better tolerated by the body in comparison with analogues.

Due to its ability not to affect COX-2, Nimesulide rarely leads to the development of side effects in the digestive system. Another factor of high safety of the drug is the presence of antihistamines and anti-bradykinin properties. Nise was developed by the Indian pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd and belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs of the sulfonamide group. Nimesulide, in turn, is a non-proprietary international name and is completely similar to Nise.

To better understand how to properly use Nise or Nimesulide in sports and bodybuilding, you need to understand the mechanisms of the drug. It is able to significantly suppress the immune stimulation of thromboxane such as B2 in the lung tissue. Among the advantages of this agent, it should be noted the ability to inhibit the secretion of histamine. This suggests that the drug can be used by people with asthma.

The drug, like its metabolites, has antioxidant properties and copes quite effectively with various types of free radicals. The half-life of the active component of the drug is in the range of 1.8-4.7 hours, but at the same time it is able to inhibit TsOP-2 for at least eight hours. And if the conversation comes about the inhibition of this substance in the synovial fluid, then here the working time of Nimesulide is even longer and is about 12 hours with a daily dosage of 0.2 grams, used for a week.

Now doctors pay much attention to the effect of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on the tissues of the articular-ligamentous apparatus. The agent is able to slow down the process of degranulation of proteoglycans, as well as the production of stromelysin. At the same time, the synthesis of collagenase metal-proteinase is significantly reduced. In terms of analgesic activity, Nise is close to indomethacin, piroxicam and diclofenac. When using the drug in an amount of 0.2 grams throughout the day, its antiperetic effect is similar to paracetamol at a dosage of 0.5 grams. Moreover, this is true not only for adults, but also for children.

Doctors recommend using Nise or Nimesulide in sports and bodybuilding in the minimum effective dosage in short courses. The tablet should be taken after meals and washed down with plenty of water. If there are problems with the work of the digestive system, then be sure to take Nise at the end of the meal or after it. Note that the maximum daily dosage of the drug is 0.2 grams.

Among people who have problems with the work of the musculoskeletal system, about a third have arterial hypertension. It is well established that all classic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs cause an increase in blood pressure. At the same time, Nimesulide is a selective COX-2 inhibitor and does not have such negative effects. We also note that this remedy does not affect the effectiveness of medications designed to lower blood pressure.

The most common disease of the musculoskeletal system is osteoarthritis deformans and, first of all, it concerns people over the age of 65. The most common chronic joint disease, in turn, is rheumatoid arthritis, and if diagnosed over three to five years, disability can occur.

In the course of drug studies, it was found that Nimesulide does not have strong cardiotoxicity in comparison with analogues. This makes it possible to use it by people at risk of developing heart disease. In one study in people who had surgery for ischemic heart muscle disease, no side effects were found. Note that during the experiment, the subjects took Nise twice a day at a single dosage of 0.1 grams.

There is scientifically proven information that Nimesulide was effective in prostatitis when patients experienced pain in the pelvic area. They take 0.1 grams of the drug twice a day for 20 days. Note that Nise has shown itself on the positive side in the course of numerous studies.

Quite often, athletes are faced with the question of which of the three drugs is more effective. It should be said right away that Nimesil is an original drug, and the other two are generics, which predetermined their lower cost. All these medicines use one substance as an active ingredient. Differences in the composition are caused by additional components that do not significantly affect the effectiveness of the drug.

All of these products have the same indications for use and can also cause similar side effects. We have already said that in terms of negative effects, Nise is a fairly safe drug. Although the main purpose of drugs using Nimesulide as an active ingredient is to eliminate pain and treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system, they can be used to solve other problems.

Among the differences between Nise and analogues is the presence of such a form of release as a suspension. As a result, the drug can be used by children aged two years and older. In addition, there are dissolving tablets that are allowed to be used from the age of three. Nimesil is not used in pediatrics.

As we have said, all drugs can cause similar side effects, which, however, are quite rare. It is very important to follow the rules for using these medications. However, this statement is true for any medications, because each of them has its own drawbacks.

If Nimesil cannot be used by children and people with type 2 diabetes, then Nimesulide is more democratic in this regard. However, in such situations, it is necessary to approach it carefully and not to use large dosages. Although some doctors are sure that generics are less effective and pose a greater danger to the body, there is no scientific evidence for this. Today in pharmacies you can find a large number of generics, and they are actively used, because their cost is several times less than that of the original drugs. However, we recommend that you consult your doctor before using any medication.
