When going on a winter fishing trip, on a hike, or on a long walk, bring warm drinks and food with you. Learn how to make a thermos, wood chip stove. The household does not always have the right things. And if you decide to go on winter fishing, on a hike, on a long walk in the cold season, a thermos for drinking and eating is necessary. A mini oven is also useful. See how you can craft these items from what you have on hand.

How to make a thermos?

If you are going for a walk in nature in winter, bring hot tea with you. If there is nothing to pour it into, see how you can make such a vessel from available tools. You can use what is available, taking plastic or glass bottles as a basis.

Thermos case

If you liked this thermos, then you will need:

  • two plastic bottles of different sizes;
  • foam rubber;
  • foil;
  • scissors;
  • Scotch;
  • yarn;
  • hook.

Wrap a small bottle in foil. This material has a glossy and matte side. We wind the foil so that it is glossy inside, so it will be better to keep warm. Cut off the neck and bottom of a large bottle. Wrap the small one with foam rubber, insert it into the larger one through the lower hole of the one.

Attach the cut bottom of the larger container to its place, attach with tape. Now, on top of this structure, you need to wind foil.

Tie a cloth of thread according to the size of a decorated large bottle. Tie the top with the attached string. If you don't know how to knit, sew on a thick fabric. How to tie and sew a thermos cover will be described below.

And this is far from the only way that will tell you how to make a thermos from plastic bottles.

To implement the second idea, you will need:

  • 2 bottles - with a capacity of 1 and 0.5 liters;
  • foil;
  • polyurethane foam;
  • Scotch;
  • knife.

We also start by wrapping the small bottle with several layers of foil, with the shiny side inward. Having cut off the bottom of a large bottle, put a small one in it, place the bottom in place, secure with tape. This must be done carefully so that when you fill the space between two bottles with polyurethane through the upper part, the mass does not flow out of the lower hole.

Don't use too much polyurethane. After squeezing out a certain amount from the plastic nozzle put on the can, wait, as the mass will increase in volume. Let the composition dry, then cut off the excess at the top with a knife. The thermos is ready.

For the third idea, in addition to two bottles of different sizes, foil, scotch tape, you will also need foam rubber.

Like the first two containers, it can be used not only to maintain an elevated temperature of the drink, but also for chilled liquid. Such a thermos is irreplaceable in the summer.

Cut the large bottle into 3 pieces, as shown in the photo. Wrap the small one first with foil, then with foam rubber, again with foil on top. Slip on the bottom, then the middle of the large bottle. Connect the container elements with tape.

Now, check out how to make a good glass bottle thermos. But you will need screw caps. You can buy juice in such a container and use it a second time.

To do this, take:

  • a glass bottle with a screw cap;
  • kitchen towels;
  • Scotch;
  • electrical tape;
  • scissors.

Wrap the bottle with 3-5 layers of paper tea towel. To make it easier to do, fix it with tape. Cut off the edge, attach it with a piece of electrical tape.

Here's another way to make a good thermos. Take:

  • a glass bottle and a slightly larger plastic bottle;
  • foil;
  • black electrical tape;
  • scissors;
  • cotton wool;
  • cotton fabric.

How to keep the food container warm?

Food container
Food container

Those who love winter fishing know how good it is to get hungry and get hot sandwiches and warm hot dogs to enjoy on a snow-covered reservoir. It is not difficult to design a container that retains heat. Do this if you have:

  • a piece of polyurethane foil insulation;
  • a plastic jar with a lid of the desired size;
  • Scotch;
  • scissors.

Cut a rectangle from the insulation, close the sides of the jar with it. Place it on the remaining sheet of foil-clad polyurethane, outline the bottom. Cut out this circle. Attach it from the bottom to the sides with tape.

Do not cut this tape. Pass the tape over the entire surface of the insulating layer. To keep the food hot as long as possible, attach the lid to the insulation, outline, cut out with a margin. Then it will be possible to close the sides of the lid with this material, fix it with tape.

Before you put food in the container, wrap it in foil.

How to sew or knit a thermos case?

It's time to reveal the secret of this. If you go for a walk with your child in the cold season, make a thermos with a dispenser, as described above. Then the drink will be warm and will keep this temperature for a long time. But it is necessary to tie the cover to the vessel.

For it you will need:

  • dark and light threads;
  • hook;
  • scissors.

Cast on 5 air loops, connect them in a ring, making another loop. Tie this blank with single crochets, you get 9 of them - this is the first row. The next row will alternate one single crochet and one raise loop. The third is performed in the same way, but two single crochets and one increase are knitted. In each subsequent row, you need to increase the number of single crochets by one loop, the increase also remains in the amount of 1 piece.

This will knit 7 rows. To finish the bottom, do the 8th row with single crochets without adding loops. In this case, the hook must be inserted into the back wall of the loop from the previous row.

Raising the side walls of the cover
Raising the side walls of the cover

Also, without adding loops, you need to crochet the cover further. To do this, we use the "front relief column" pattern, alternating with the "purl column". We use single crochet stitches for 10 rows. Now you need to change the dark thread to the light one, perform 6 rows with single crochet.

Take the dark yarn again, knit 7 rows of embossed double crochets with it. Then do six rows of single crochet with light thread. Next, there are 7 rows of embossed double crochets using dark thread.

It remains to complete two rows with single crochets and one single crochet, using light yarn. Tie a chain with a blue thread, pass it from above between the posts.

Now you need to put on a crocheted cover on the bottle, tighten the lacing, decorate it with strings.

To work you will need:

  • felt;
  • cotton fabric;
  • scissors;
  • needle;
  • threads;
  • rags;
  • polyethylene;
  • felt.

The fabric construction will be four-layer, so you need to cut out blanks of the same shape from felt; polyethylene; rags; cotton fabrics. They will be rectangular. It is easy to determine the size of these parts, for this it is enough to measure the distance from the cap to the bottom of the bottle, add 1–2 cm. Reduce the layers of polyethylene and rags from two opposite sides by 1 cm.

Also cut out 4 circular pieces that match the bottom of the bottle. It is better to iron the edges of the workpieces right away, so that it is more convenient to grind the layers together. Which is what you will do.

Set the newspapers on fire, after which you can place a skillet or pot of water to cook food.

But this is a one-off design. If you want to make a reusable one, then look at how a wood chip oven is made. It can be made on the basis of cans or use a metal device for drying spoons, forks. This is sold, for example, in Ikea stores. Consider the low-cost option first.

To make one, you will need:

  • a large tin can with a diameter of 15, a height of 18 cm and an evenly cut lid from it;
  • two 800 ml cans and a cut-out lid;
  • the next can is needed to make a shelf for the stove out of it;
  • scissors for metal;
  • marker;
  • glass wool;
  • gloves.

Take the lid from the small jar, attach it to the side of the large one, circle it with a marker.

If you use a special tool for cutting metal, be sure to wear glasses, work with gloves, and observe safety measures. Place a small jar in front of you, attach the same lid to it. Circle, cut a hole. This is what your design will look like. You put a small jar inside a large one, pass the second small one through the holes of both.

But cans are short-lived. If you want to make a little thing that will last for a long time, then use a metal container for drying cutlery.

She needs to cut out a door on the side, as shown in the photo.

If you want to put a small container, then install two metal rods in parallel through the slots of the stove at the top. You will put a container on them.

Camping stoves can even be made from a metal mug. If you want to see the manufacturing process, watch the video.

How another splinter oven is constructed is described in the following story.

Having looked at the third, you will learn how to make a thermos with your own hands.
