  • Fig peach jam in pieces … We need 3 kg of fig peaches, 2 glasses of water and 2 kg of sugar. First, prepare the fruits: rinse, remove the peel and seeds, dividing it into halves. Then we boil the fig peaches in syrup (the amount of sugar and water is indicated at the beginning of the recipe) for 10 minutes. Let's cool it down. Cook again for 10 minutes. We put in jars, cork and wrap until cooled.
  • Plain Peach Jam … Ingredients: 1 kg of fig peaches and 500-700 g of sugar. First of all, we prepare the fruit: we wash it, remove the seeds and peel, sprinkling the fruit with hot or cold water several times. Then we fill them up, after having cut them into slices, sugar and leave for 1 hour so that the peaches let the juice out. Now we cook the jam for 1 hour, remembering to remove the foam and stir. We close it with tin or nylon lids special for preservation, wrap it up, and let it cool down.
  • Fig peach honey jam … To make this jam, you need to take 1 kg of hard but ripe peaches. We wash them, remove the seeds and cut them into pieces. Prepare syrup from 1 kg of sugar and 200 ml of water. When it cools down to about 40 degrees, pour in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Then put the fruit in syrup and leave for a day, while stirring several times. Then bring the jam to a boil again and leave to infuse for a day. But for the third time, cook until tender, 15 minutes. Then the process already familiar to us: sterilized jars, lids, wrapping.
  • Fig peach jam … Ingredients: 1.5 kg sugar, 1 kg pitted peaches and 1 glass of water. First, we prepare the fruits: we wash, remove the seeds, cut into slices. Then we cook the syrup, of course, from sugar and water. Put peaches in hot liquid and cook for 5 minutes, hence the name "five minutes". We cork, wrap up. Such jam can be excellent filling for pies, if the pieces of peaches are thrown in a colander.
  • Fig peach compote … Components: 2 kg of fruit, 2 l of water and 500 g of sugar. We wash the peaches and divide them into halves, removing the seeds. We put fruits in a sterilized jar with a capacity of 3 liters. Fill them with water for 20 minutes. Then we drain the liquid, bring it to a boil and pour the peaches again, pouring sugar into the jar. Cork, wrap for 2 days. Compote has a wonderful aroma and taste, and peaches will perfectly replace any dessert or decorate pies and cakes.
  • Charlotte with fig peach … Fruits can be taken both fresh and canned in the amount of 5 pieces. So, first, beat 4 eggs with 150 g of sugar, and then with 150 ml of sour cream. Now add 1 cup flour mixed with 1 teaspoon baking powder. We combine all the components for the dough; in terms of density, it should resemble thick sour cream. Now let's get down to peaches. If they are canned, then just cut them into pieces. And if fresh? You need to rinse them, remove the pit and peel, and then cut into slices. Now we mix the peaches into the prepared dough and put it in a baking dish, after having greased it. For baking we have an oven, temperature - 180 degrees, cooking time - 35-40 minutes.
  • Cottage cheese pie with fig peaches … Ingredients: 200 g flour, 440 g cottage cheese, 50 g butter, 80 g sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, 4 tablespoons milk and, of course, peaches - 3 pieces. First, prepare the dough: mix the flour, butter, egg, milk, salt and half the sugar. While we are busy with the filling, keep the dough in the cold. For her, grind the other half of the sugar, egg and cottage cheese into a homogeneous mass. Now level the dough in a baking dish, put the curd filling on top of it, and then cut the fig peaches into slices. We bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
  • "Vitamin salad" … This dish is especially suitable for those who have had the flu or sore throat. First, grate 1 large carrot. Then cut 2 peaches and 2 apples into small pieces. Mix all the ingredients and season with two tablespoons of honey. If you like nuts, they won't spoil our salad. Eat and do not get sick!
  • "Man's Fantasy" salad … Boil the chicken breast, and also take 100 g of hard cheese, 5 fresh fig peaches, a little lettuce. Is that all? Well no. We also take 2 tablespoons of sour cream, the same amount of mayonnaise, 2 cloves of garlic, pepper and salt to taste. First, chop all the components finely. Then prepare the sauce: mix sour cream, mayonnaise, crushed garlic, pepper and salt. Then we mix all the ingredients for the salad and season with the sauce. Both the benefits and the taste are present in this salad.
  • Summer ice cream with fig peaches … We need 3 seedless fruits, as well as cashews and a creamy ice cream. The container for ice cream will be cups with a wide bottom, where we will put chopped peaches and nuts, then - to the very top, our cold dairy product. Decorate the top with peach pulp and nuts. For the first time, fig peaches were described in 1820, the fact that they were brought to Europe by missionaries was mentioned. Here they were called "peach-saturn" or "peach-donut", a small pit is easily removed and a small hole remains, like a donut.

It has already been mentioned that the birthplace of the fig peach is China, which is probably why these fruits are also called "Chinese turnip", because of the name of the country and the turnip-like shape. Saucer, flat, white or Fergana peach - this is also called these fruits.

In nature, there are such varieties of them: Saturn, Chinese red saucer, Chinese white saucer, Vladimir, fig white and steppe turnip. In Western China and in the eastern Central Asian republics, the fig peach was called "fig-shaftalyu". To ripen, they need a long warm summer, protected from the north wind. For this reason, fig peaches do not ripen in the Moscow region. But in the Voronezh region, they still have time to mature.

Until 2010, the inhabitants of Russia did not know the fruits of this wonderful plant, due to their non-transportability and a short fresh preservation period. Now they are found in supermarkets even in the northern regions.

Fig peaches are brought to Crimea from warm countries, starting from mid-July. Farmers are engaged in the cultivation of these fruits in the region of Bakhchisarai. But in the documents of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, the first mentions of this peach date back to 1893.
