Most often, the walls on the loggia are sheathed with panels of various types. They are advantageous in that, after fastening, they do not require additional processing. The most popular are PVC panels and wood paneling. The advantages of the panels are ease of installation and excellent decorative qualities.

PVC panels are valued for their moisture resistance and plasticity, and are inexpensive. They are connected by the "thorn in the groove" method. But they do not tolerate negative temperatures, and fade in the sun.

To whom imitation is not enough, may consider options for decorating the walls of the loggia associated with wooden clapboard. For this premises, buy products from pine or spruce class "extra" or "A". A more expensive option is larch boards, they are of higher quality and stronger. Wood has antiseptic properties and has a beneficial effect on the indoor atmosphere.

The lining must be varnished to protect it from moisture, so it can last 20 years. The boards are attached to a crate fixed in advance to the wall, the front side of which is exposed in one plane. The edges under the ceiling and above the floor are covered with skirting boards.

In addition to the lining, you can decorate the walls of the loggia with MDF panels, laminated fiberboard, chipboard. In cold rooms, surfaces must be varnished to protect against condensation.

Moisture resistant MDF panels are a versatile material for finishing cold and warm loggias. Material - inexpensive, quickly assembled. After installation, it is recommended to varnish it, even in capital buildings. Among the disadvantages can be noted the harmful components in the composition of the material, which are released during operation.

Siding is often used in "cold" loggias. In order to simplify installation, choose panels with an edge for fastening fittings and special latches. Siding can be fixed to flat walls, which saves the overall floor space. For a loggia, buy panels with a glossy, semi-glossy and matte surface. Siding in the sun quickly fades, so a white material is installed on the sunny side.

Plasterboard walls on the loggia are painted or used as a base for wallpaper. It is recommended to use waterproof products GVL or GVLV. After fastening, the gaps between the canvases and the traces of the fasteners are closed with putty. On insulated loggias, drywall will last more than 15 years.

Wallpaper is great for walls on a loggia, except for paper, which quickly fade in the sun. On the sunny side of the house, the rooms are pasted over with wallpaper with bright colors. Thanks to the large assortment, you can always find samples that go well with other materials.

An excellent option is considered gluing fiberglass wallpaper on the loggia. They stand out for their great strength, are not afraid of humidity and sudden changes in temperature. Such a coating is allowed to be painted repeatedly. On the wallpaper, you can apply drawings that are in good harmony with the environment. Fiberglass wallpaper has the longest lifespan. They are glued on flat surfaces - on drywall, putty wall, sometimes on old wallpaper.

Decorative plaster is also often used on loggias. Small crumbs of marble, mica, granite are added to textured mixtures for decorative coating. A more expensive option is Venetian plaster, which is kneaded from gypsum and marble chips.

The most affordable for an inexperienced builder is decorating the walls of the loggia with liquid wallpaper, which forms a covering on the wall with a beautiful silk structure.

The walls of the loggia can be decorated with material that is used to decorate the facades. The advantages of such materials include moisture resistance, heat resistance, strength. Often, the surface is finished with tiles for indoor use or facing bricks. The material looks good on a background of wood panels. An alternative option is to use natural or artificial stone.

Decorative stone is the perfect option for cladding the walls of the loggia. It does not sour from moisture, is not afraid of temperature changes, and is very durable. Among the shortcomings, one can single out its high cost. Artificial material is cheaper than natural, but the price is just as high. To save money, only one wall is laid out on loggias or a panel is made of material.

The decorative stone is fixed with an adhesive solution. During installation, wooden wedges of the same thickness are temporarily installed between the elements to ensure equal gaps between the tiles. After gluing, the gaps are rubbed and covered with a water repellent agent to protect against external influences.

Brick lovers can purchase flexible acrylic tiles, which are made from acrylic resin and marble chips. A decorative film glued to the front side gives the necessary texture.

Sheathing the loggia with plastic panels

The decoration of the walls of the loggia is carried out in several stages, the first of which is the creation of conditions under which the coating will last a long time. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Glaze the loggia, preferably with metal-plastic windows with PVC frames and prefabricated glass units.
  • Fill up any crevices and gaps through which dampness and cold droop from the outside. Seal small defects with putty, large ones - with polyurethane foam, which, after hardening, cover with a facing or cover with a sealant to protect against ultraviolet radiation.
  • Insulate the loggia with heat insulators, which will allow you to operate the room all year round, and decorate the walls with inexpensive material.

There are several ways to fix materials to the wall. Plastic, lining, MDF panels are attached to the lathing. The advantage of this method is that the base walls do not need to be leveled. To assemble the frame, you will need 30x30 mm and 40x40 mm rails. They are fixed to the wall in positions in which the outer sides are in the same plane. The frame is fastened with screws or dowels. Spacers are installed in the gaps between the slats and the wall every 400-500 mm. The step of the bars is determined by the size of the insulation. The panels are positioned perpendicular to the frame rails. Decorative panels on the wall can be placed horizontally or vertically, and the lathing is also placed accordingly. The methods of fastening the material to the rails and to each other depend on the design features of the panels.

Their location is chosen based on such moments. The horizontally located panels visually expand the room, but lower the height. Vertical planks increase the height of the room. After finishing the walls of the loggia with wood materials, they are impregnated with water-repellent and bactericidal substances.

A soft coating (foam, insulation boards) can be plastered by gluing a reinforcing fiberglass mesh on top. It is able to hold a layer of plaster or glue. To cover the walls on the loggia, a dry gypsum mixture is suitable, after which finishing is not required. To get a high-quality surface for wallpaper, it is plastered in any case, even without insulation. The plastered surface can be decorated in various ways, depending on the preferences of the owner.

For attaching foam or dense heat-insulating panels to the wall, dowels in the form of a fungus and special glue for this material are used. Ceresit CM 11 glue is popular among users. The mixture is applied to the sheet in 5 places and glued to the wall. Then holes (5 pcs.) Are drilled in the partition through the sheet, fungi are driven into them and fix it completely.

Often in the capital loggia, gypsum plasterboard sheets are used, which can be painted or trimmed in the way the owner likes. For the installation of drywall on the wall, a crate is assembled from metal profiles set in one plane. GKL is attached to the crate with self-tapping screws. The fastener heads are sealed with putty.
