“Lavash slices are comparable to the ear of a hare, so transparent that you can see a sunbeam,” - this is how Armenian poets sing about their popular flatbread. Nutritionists, in turn, explain that pita bread contains almost all the elements a person needs - carbohydrates (complex and simple), fiber, high-value protein (with essential amino acids) and even a little fat. In addition, lavash retains its taste properties for a long time - it can be stored in dried form for up to 6 months. And to keep it fresh from blooming, keep it in the refrigerator.

You can stuff and stuff pita bread with a wide variety of products: meat, vegetables and, of course, cheese or cottage cheese. In Armenia, the homeland of thin lavash, from time immemorial, pickled and wineskin cheeses have been made that look like cottage cheese. Various herbs, spices and garlic were added to them. However, in our country it is difficult to get such cheeses, so we replace it with cottage cheese, which we season with herbs.

This appetizer turns out to be quite tasty and satisfying. However, I advise you to cook it for one meal and serve it immediately after cooking. Do not store it in the refrigerator for a long time, since the aroma of herbs will disappear immediately, and the cottage cheese will become liquid and may turn sour.
