Among the many side dishes, mashed potatoes are the most famous. Delicate taste and delicate aroma are the most important benefits. Another plus is versatility, since it goes well with any dishes: meat, fish, mushroom and vegetable. Plus, mashed potatoes never get bored. And even if there was only one recipe for the dish. But fortunately, the favorite food has many varieties. Therefore, we continue to explore new options. Today's recipe is mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream.

This cooking method is taken from Ukrainian national cuisine, which is famous for many nutritious potato dishes. This puree turns out to be lush, tender, airy and unusually tasty. But for it to work that way, it is important to choose the "right" potato. Varieties with a high starch content are best suited for garnish. The most delicious puree is obtained from the Adretta and Sineglazka varieties. It is better to cook this dish at one time, because after cooling and reheating, the puree already tastes wrong.

2. Cut large tubers into several pieces so that the potatoes cook evenly, and place them in a cooking pot. Pour drinking water into a pot so that it completely covers the tubers. Season with salt and cook on the stove. Add spices and dried herbs if desired. Boil the vegetable over low heat after boiling for 15-20 minutes, periodically checking the readiness with a fork. If the appliance enters freely, then the potatoes are ready.
