When planning the construction of a bath, you should carefully consider the heating project. It is important to understand that the stove alone, as a rule, is not capable of heating the entire building. How quickly it heats up and how much heat it retains depends on which system you choose for the bath. Content:

The bathhouse provides for a relaxation room where you can relax, drink cool drinks or have a snack. Some hygienic buildings also have a playroom and a swimming pool. Accordingly, in the winter period, it becomes necessary to heat all these rooms. There are different heating systems that will provide constant and even heat not only in the steam room, but throughout the entire bath. So, let's take a look at the most popular types of heating.

Heating the bath from home

The most common option is to heat the bath from the boiler that is installed in your home.

Advantages of heating a bath from home:

  • Warmth in the house - warmth in the bath. If you do not need to heat in the bath, then it is enough just to turn off the special tap - and only the house is heated.
  • Economical fuel consumption.
  • You don't need to go to the bathhouse to melt it.
  • A good opportunity to periodically keep warm in the bath when it's freezing outside.

This option is especially good if the bath is located near the house. To connect the bath to the house heating system, it is necessary to conduct a heating main from the house to the bath, through which heating will flow to the bath from the house, and install one or more radiators in the bath (from 300 rubles apiece) for heating.

Note: for this type of heating, it is good when the bathhouse and the house are connected by a passage in the form of a vestibule, then there is no need to carry out insulation work with the heating main, otherwise they are important.

Sauna gas heating

The option of heating a bath with gas is quite common. It is worth noting that this type of heating is more justified if you have a large bath area - about 200-300 sq. m. That is, when the "complete set" - a playroom, a relaxation room, a treatment room and so on. In this case, we attach a separate room to the bath, which will be a boiler room with its own heating system, we install a gas boiler in the boiler room (from 15 thousand rubles).

If your sauna is small - a steam room, a relaxation room and a swimming pool, then you shouldn't make a separate boiler room. It is enough to put two or three gas convectors (from 10 thousand rubles). They will operate on bottled or main gas. It is important to remember that gas heating in a bath is a rather dangerous type of heating. Therefore, it is imperative to install a gas cut-off system in case of fire.

The advantages of gas heating:

  1. The gas boiler is easy to maintain.
  2. Environmental friendliness (gas is burned in a chamber located under the stones).
  3. Profitability.
  4. Regulation of heat supply.

With gas heating, the room heats up within 4-5 hours. When installing a gas heating system, it is important to consult a specialist.

Sauna stove heating

The principle of operation of stove heating is that when heating a sauna stove, you need to heat the entire bath. In such a traditional way of heating, there is more romance and aesthetic pleasure - the crackle of burning wood, the scent of wood. But from a practical and economic point of view, stove heating a bath is not the best option.

Disadvantages of stove heating:

  • It is impossible to heat modern types of baths with a large number of additional rooms.
  • High fuel consumption.
  • Firewood must be constantly delivered (gas or electricians do not require this).
  • Stopped heating - you need to drain the water, otherwise it will freeze throughout the bath.

But there is a positive side to stove heating: if you have a metal stove, although it does not retain heat for long, it heats up in just a couple of hours.

Note, if you have a small bathhouse, with a steam room and a swimming pool, for example, then stove heating is not a bad option at all.

Bath water heating

The simplest and most common heating method is water heating. For water heating, you just need to install a good, cast-iron boiler (from 25 thousand rubles). When heated, the water spreads through the system of heating devices, thereby evenly heating all the rooms of the bath.

Water heating of a bath is convenient because it provides a wide choice of fuel:

  1. Firewood;
  2. Kerosene;
  3. Natural gas;
  4. Coal.

You just have to determine which type of fuel is more suitable in terms of quality and price.

It is unambiguous to say that some of these types of heating are good, but some are bad - it is impossible. All types have their positive and negative sides. When choosing a type of heating, you should be guided by the following recommendations:

  • If you have a small sauna, then stove heating will be the best option. If the bath is oversized, then it will be easier with gas heating.
  • Pay attention to what type of fuel is right for you economically and also in terms of availability. In addition, heating mains and heating from home are not always available.
  • It also matters how well your bath is initially insulated, what is the heat transfer of the material from which it was built, and how well the building retains heat.
