  • Servings - 3-4
  • Cooking time - 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • Rice - 400 g
  • Chicken thighs - 2-3 pcs.
  • Carrots - 1 pc. (large)
  • Bulb onions - 1 pc. (big)
  • Garlic cloves - 4-5 pcs.
  • Vegetable oil - 2/3 tbsp.
  • Salt
  • Seasoning for rice (it will be tastier if it contains dried barberry)

Cooking pilaf with chicken:

  1. Rice (you can use ordinary rice, it is not necessary to look for certain varieties for pilaf) soak in cold water for several hours, rinse it well up to six times.
  2. Separately cut the chicken thighs into small pieces and fry them in a large amount of vegetable oil right in the cauldron where the pilaf will be cooked.
  3. When the chicken is fried, add chopped onions and carrots grated on a coarse grater to it, fry everything for 5 minutes.
  4. Next, fill in the rice and add salt to taste. Peel the garlic cloves separately and stick them into the rice. Sprinkle with pilaf seasoning on top. All this does not interfere.
  5. The next step is to fill the rice with boiling water so that there is a water level above it, about two centimeters. Cover the cauldron with a lid and simmer the pilaf until all the water has evaporated (about 30-40 minutes). At the end, stir the pilaf and serve. The main thing is that there is enough vegetable oil, otherwise the chicken pilaf will not be crumbly.
