Despite the large number of useful properties, this product does not always benefit everyone. When we talk about a beneficial effect, we mean eating dried fruits in a reasonable amount, and not abusing them, because they have a high calorie content and contain a large percentage of sugar.

Who should refrain from introducing dried apples into the diet:

  • Suffering from toothache … Fruit acids and sugars, which are stored in dried fruits after drying, destroy tooth enamel, for this reason, the product is not recommended.
  • Patients with exacerbation of an ulcer … Dried fruit contains organic acids and fiber, so it cannot be included in the diet for such ailment.
  • Patients with late stage diabetes … The high calorie content and the large amount of sugar in the product make it dangerous in the presence of diabetic problems.
  • Obese people … For the reason already mentioned above (sugar and calorie content), you cannot eat dried apples in large portions.

In addition, when overeating these dry foods, colic and bloating arise.

Only the pulp and peel of apples, whether fresh or dried, has a beneficial effect on the body. But the seeds contain the poisonous substance amygdalin glucoside, which tends to break down in the body into hydrocyanic acid - the strongest poison. The permissible amount of consumed seeds without harm to health is 3-4 pieces, you can not eat more. To improve the presentation, dried apples are treated with sulfur dioxide. Both the appearance and shade of the product are preserved, but the benefits are significantly reduced, because this element is highly toxic. It can cause headaches, vomiting, nausea, sore throat, coughing, choking, and even pulmonary edema.

In the first case, we will lay out the apple pieces on clean paper or metal sheets, which we will place in the open air, in the shade or in a well-ventilated attic. In order to avoid chapping of the product, it must be turned over from time to time. This process will take 7-10 days. This is how fruits were once dried in Russia. Drying apples in this way will ensure greater vitamin retention.

With the development of modern technology, electric dryers have appeared, with which you can cook delicious dried apples. With the right approach to the procedure, from 10 kg of fresh fruit, you can get 1-1.5 kg of dry.

Before storing dried apples, prepare a glass container with an airtight lid. Place it in a dry, dark, cool place. With this storage method, no pests will be dangerous to the product, and you can enjoy it at any time of the year.
