How to make a doll bed?

This does not require special materials and equipment, an ordinary cardboard box will do, it needs to be cut in a certain way and the parts connected.

Doll bed
Doll bed

We begin to create a crib for a doll with a pattern. You will need to redraw it onto cardboard. You can rely on the dimensions given or use your own for the size of the doll.

Pattern for doll bed

In the diagram shown, dimensions are in inches. They are easy to convert to Russian size, if you know that in one inch there are 2, 54 cm.

The bottom diagram is the base of the doll bed. This is a rectangle 50 cm long and 33 cm wide (we round off the numbers). Departing from the large sides by 2.5 cm, make cuts. They will be needed for a strong connection of parts. As you can see, on the left, the length of the two slots of 3 inches, that is, 7, 6 cm. On the right, they are equal to 14 cm.

You will attach the legs and headboards to these slots. The back, marked as foot, will be near the doll's feet. Here you will also attach the legs of the berth, indicated by the same word. The head of the bed is a headboart. The legs that you will attach here are indicated by the same word. Here's how many and what details you should have cut out on the cardboard as a result:

  • base - 1 pc.;
  • headboard - 1;
  • the side around the legs - 1;
  • front legs - 2 pcs.;
  • hind legs - 2 pcs.

When joining parts, pay attention to the colored circles on the pattern. The green ones indicate the connection of the legs, towards which the doll will lie with its feet. The yellow ones show the alignment of the details at the headboard. This is how the doll bed is made. It can be not only of this texture.

Other Barbie Furniture

In this case, the doll's bed will look like this:

Paper bed for dolls
Paper bed for dolls

At first glance, it is hard to believe that the base of the bed is not made of wood or plastic, but of paper.

Here's what you need for this craft:

  • light cardboard;
  • White paper;
  • the cloth;
  • glue;
  • synthetic winterizer;
  • scissors;
  • cord;
  • ear sticks;
  • foam sheet;
  • toothpicks;
  • needle and thread.

We start the production of an important piece of toy furniture with the manufacture of a base, in this case a mattress. Cut out a piece of thick cardboard for the base. In order not to be mistaken in size, first put the Barbie on it, cut out a little with a margin to bend the edges on all four sides and thereby give the base volume. Attach it from the inside out to the fabric, cut it out with allowances on all sides, grease the edges with glue, fold them over the cardboard and press down. Place a sheet of styrofoam inside the box for strength.

Now, from another cardboard, cut out a rectangle that matches the size of the mattress. Put a sheet of padding polyester on it, and on top - a cloth of fabric slightly larger in size, so that you can then bend the edges of the flap. Sew all three layers together, simulating a box spring stitching.

Attach this upper part of the base to the lower one, glue the fabric on the sides so that the mattress for the doll is complete.

We start decorating it. To do this, cut a strip out of the fabric, coat it from the inside with glue, attach a cord here, wrap the canvas in a "roll".

To make the parts of the night bed strong, create three identical parts and glue them together. Assemble the legs of the bed in the same way, using 4 of the same elements. Glue them and the headboard cross members into place. Here's what you should get.

How to make a chair with your own hands?

It will look like the real thing. For this piece of furniture you will need:

  • cardboard;
  • wooden skewer;
  • transparent glue;
  • acrylic paints;
  • PVA glue;
  • sandpaper.

Looking at the photo clue, cut out three pieces of cardboard for the back of the chair, one for the seat. Make the legs from a wooden skewer, note that the back legs are longer than the front ones. In the finished product, they will be on the same level.

To make the back curved and strong, use this trick. Mix PVA and water in equal proportions, dip this part into this mixture. Then attach it to the round bubble, wrap it with a bandage, remove the structure to dry on the battery.

While this is happening, glue the front legs.

Now cut a thin strip of cardboard, its length should be such that it reaches from one front leg to the other, if you pass it along the contours of the semicircular seat. To give the strip a curved shape, soak it in the same mixture of glue and water, wring it out. Glue this piece in a semicircle, and a strip of the same width between the front legs in a straight line.

After that, you can paint the chair in any color. A dark one was used here, and to give the object an antique effect, the paint was slightly rubbed with sandpaper, and the top was covered with a matte varnish.

How are doll clothes sewn?

Daughters will be pleased not only with the new furniture for Barbie, but also with things. Craft them with your children to instill in them a love for this type of needlework from an early age. Start with simple things like creating a negligee. Enlarge the pattern on the monitor screen so that the item is the size of the doll.

Peignoir for a doll
Peignoir for a doll

As you can see, the pattern consists of only two elements. Fold the fabric in half along the lobe, attach a large piece, cut out. Place the pattern on the seamy side of the fabric, mark with a shallow place the two slots into which the Barbie's hands will be inserted. For the collar, cut out the details by folding the fabric in half.

Here's how to create such clothes for dolls with your own hands. Sew the negligee at the back, joining the two sides of the back. Cut a hole for the arms, trim it with tape or bias tape. Sew the right and left shelf. These scent spots can also be decorated with ribbon.

Connect both collar parts together on the wrong side, while leaving free space around the neck. Turn the collar right out. Stitch the bottom of the neck first and then the top.

If you want to decorate the collar with a tape, then first put this decorative tape between its two parts, trim the edges of all three parts so that they are on the same level, sew on the wrong side. When you turn the collar over your face, you will see that it is decorated with braid.

It remains to cut the bottom of the negligee, sew on the tie, after which the new outfit for Barbie is ready. Lingerie will also be easy to create. The pattern consists of just one piece.

To sew a jumpsuit, redraw the pattern onto paper. As you can see, it is one-piece.

Pattern for combedress

Attach the backing paper to the wrong side of the fabric, cut, adding 1 cm on all sides for seam allowances. Transfer the legend to the wrong side.

If you have a dark fabric, it is convenient to redraw the details of the pattern on it with a crayon, but on a light one, a simple pencil is usually used. Draw here the stripes on the shelf and back, marking the waistline with them. Now fold the fabric blank in half by joining the front sides. In this case, the numbers: 1, 2, 5, 6 must be connected in pairs. Stitch off the sides. Where the segments are drawn on the diagram, insert an elastic band. To do this, measure it along the waistline of the doll, stitch it from the inside with a zigzag seam, stretching it.

Process the bottom and top of the suit with a braid, make two straps from it, sew them into place.

An evening dress for Barbie consists of only two parts. Please note that the front is one-piece, and the back must be created from two elements, since there will be a cut on the back and below the knees.

Redraw the details on the pattern, and then on the fabric folded in half. Cut with seam allowances. Sew the right and left sides of the back, and the slit at the bottom. Stitch these details at the hips. Now attach the back and shelf with the right sides to each other, sew these parts on the sides. Finish the neckline at the front.

Cut a long, narrow strip out of the fabric. Stitch the sides, tie a bow, sew on the back of the dress.

This is how wonderful it will turn out for you.

To keep your daughter's ward from freezing on cold days, see how to sew a coat.

Take a thick fabric for it. Pin the redrawn details as follows. The back will be complete, so place the pattern on a folded fabric. Redraw, unfold the canvas, mark the places of the upper folds, lay them, fasten with a thread with a needle.

The details of the shelf are the right and left halves of the front. Fold the placket along the dotted lines to sew on one button and make slits in the other. Cut out 4 sleeve pieces. The base of the beret consists of a circle, the dotted lines indicate the place of the fold.

We begin to sew a coat. Stitch the side seams of the shelves and backs on the wrong side, connect the details of the sleeves in pairs, sew. Close the shoulder seams as well. Insert the right and left sleeves into the matching armholes, and sew on the wrong side. Shoulder pads can be sewn on to make the coat fit well. Undercut it. Fold the collar in half as shown in the diagram, stitch it to the neckline.

It remains to cut and sweep the loops, sew on the buttons on the other side and praise yourself for the fact that you were able to sew the coat with your own hands.

To sew a beret, sew a bias tape along its entire rounded edge, thread an elastic band measured along the volume of the doll's head into the resulting drawstring.
