Before proceeding with the construction of a bath stove, you should understand the varieties of these devices. In a sauna with stove heating, metal and stone stoves can be used. The first option is characterized by a rigid body made of cast iron or steel. Because of this, it does not undergo deformation under the influence of high temperature. Metal stoves can be purchased at any hardware store. Even a beginner can install them according to the instructions. And you can even build a stone structure yourself.

According to the type of work, there are two types of sauna stoves:

  1. Permanent action … Differs in a small volume of stones and a small wall thickness. It can heat up to 350 degrees. This stove can be connected to any type of heating. The main thing is to separate the smoke channels and the furnace chamber from the backfill using cast iron tiles or steel sheets. This will help prevent smoke and soot from entering the room.
  2. Periodic action … For the construction of such stoves, thick masonry is made and a large volume of bricks is used. This is necessary to protect the surface from overheating and increase the heat transfer period. The maximum temperature at the bottom is 1100 degrees. The best heating option is wood-burning. But the use of coal is prohibited. In this case, the inner surfaces of the oven will be destroyed.

For the equipment of the stove heating of the bath, it is necessary to perform the steps step by step:

  1. We pull out a foundation pit. 5 cm larger on each side than the oven.
  2. We tamp brick, stone, crushed stone and gravel without mortar.
  3. We make a mortar: cement (sand and cement in a ratio of 3 to 1), lime (sand and lime in a ratio of 2 to 1), lime-cement (lime - 2 parts, sand - 1 part, cement - 6-16 parts).
  4. We lay the next row with mortar and dressing at the seams.
  5. We make a screed on top. Please note that the foundation should be two bricks higher than the floor.
  6. We cover with a double waterproofing layer. Bitumen is best suited.
  7. Soak the clay for several hours. After that, we prepare a solution of clay, sand and water.
  8. We make the laying of the next rows of refractory bricks. It is important that each brick is intact and undamaged. The thickness of the seams must be less than 3 mm. Walls can be laid out with ordinary bricks. And for the firebox, refractory and refractory are suitable. Be sure to check horizontality and verticality.
  9. During the process, we cover the vertical seams. The firebox is usually 80 cm deep, 40 cm wide and 35 cm high.
  10. We install a cast-iron grate at a distance of 5 mm from the bricks and fill the resulting space with asbestos or cement.
  11. We mount the surface of the slab with the same gap, fill the void with asbestos.
  12. We fix the frame for the firebox doors in the masonry. To do this, we attach steel paws to it with rivets and mount thermal insulation from an asbestos cord.
  13. We lay out the jumper on top in the "lock", and on the sides we lay the masonry with beveled ends on the adjacent bricks.
  14. We attach 2mm wire to the sliding frames and the door. We fix its ends in the masonry and equip the bottom with holes for ash below the blower doors.
  15. We install the water tank. It is better to choose a straight line, since its filling is easier to access, and the inside is easier to maintain.
  16. We make a chimney for the stove. At the junction of the chimney with the roof, we install a spark arrester (a mesh with metal cells). This is necessary for security reasons. The height of the outer section of the chimney must be from 80 cm.
  17. We dry the oven. To do this, you can heat it with chips for several days in a row with the firebox door open, the blower and all puffs. When condensation ceases to appear on the doors during the firebox, we can assume that the stove is ready for use.

We carry out external finishing to your taste. To do this, you can grind the red brick and give it a colorful color with sulfuric and hydrochloric acids. Tiles are also suitable. At the end of all work, we put stones in the backfill. We calculate their quantity according to the principle of 40-60 kg / 1 cu. meter. If plaster is supposed, then we heat the stove and moisten it with water before work. Plastering can be done with the following compositions: clay-asbestos-sand; lime-sand-asbestos-gypsum; asbestos-cement-clay-sand. We examined a method of arranging a wood-burning stove for a house and a sauna with stove heating. However, you can install a different model if you wish. As an alternative to stove heating, other options are also used - electric, gas, water heating. In the latter case, the water is heated by coal, gas, kerosene or wood. Then he moves around the instruments and equips the whole room with heat. By warming up the pipes, it cools down and returns to the stove heating boiler. For this type, it is better to install a cast iron boiler.

We offer you to watch the video on the construction of a brick sauna stove:

The humidity and heat of the steam room depend on the correctness of the stove heating equipment and its operation. Therefore, this process must be taken seriously. In this case, the bathhouse will last more than one year.
