When you don't want to bother with making puff pastry or just don't know how to make it, then a purchased frozen semi-finished product will help out. Frozen store-bought fresh puff pastry is a “lifesaver” for many housewives. Guided by culinary skills and imagination, you can bake any delicious products from it. In today's recipe, we will make a roll with plum jam from ready-made puff pastry. Roll is a classic flavor combination and a win-win dessert for any occasion.

But, if there is no plum jam, then any other jam is suitable for home baking: raspberry, strawberry, apple, cherry, apricot, currant…. You can often pamper your family with such pastries, just changing the filling. The main thing to look for when choosing jam for the filling is consistency. Jam, preserves or preserves should not be very liquid, otherwise it will spread beyond the puff and the puff will most likely turn out to be dry. The filling should remain inside the roll, then the dessert will be tender and juicy. But if there is no suitable jam in consistency, then mix it with cottage cheese. These homemade puffs will be just as tasty.

1. Remove the puff pastry from the freezer and thaw at room temperature. Do not use a microwave oven for defrosting, otherwise the dough will lose its flakiness. Roll out the thawed dough into a thin layer 3-4 mm thick. Roll the puff pastry in one direction with a rolling pin so as not to break the layers.

5. Along the entire roll at a distance of 3-4 cm, make shallow cuts with a knife so that the dough does not swell during baking and the finished roll is easy to cut. Brush the roll with milk or a beaten egg and place in a preheated oven to 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes. When the roll of ready-made puff pastry with plum jam is covered with a golden brown crust, remove it from the oven. Cool it to room temperature, cut into portions and serve to the dessert table.
