Turkish cuisine offers a wide variety of dishes. Vegetables like cucumbers, pepperoni, and of course potatoes are also very popular. Today we will learn how to cook spicy potatoes in Turkish. It is a sure-fire accompaniment as a hot appetizer to any meat dish. Although it can be served as a standalone dish for a light lunch.

The richness of the taste of this dish is achieved by pre-cooking vegetables and a spicy sauce. Sumach, cumin, ginger and saffron are set off by the aroma of garlic accords. This is a real oriental fairy tale in its natural form. Try this dish according to the original Turkish recipe, as it is prepared in Turkey. But if the treat will be served to children, then replace hot red pepper with sweet paprika.

  • Butter - 25 g
  • Cumin - 0.25 tsp
  • Ginger Powder - 0.25 tsp
  • Red hot pepper - a pinch
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Saffron - 0.25 tsp
  • Dry white wine - 15 ml
  • Salt - 0.5 tsp or to taste
  • Sumakh - 0.25 tsp

1. Peel and wash potatoes.

2. Cut it into large wedges, as for the villager's potato recipe, and place in the cooking pot.

3. Fill with water and place on the stove. Boil and simmer for 7 minutes. Do not salt, because salt promotes spillage of tubers, and they must remain intact.

5. Melt it in a microwave or water bath. But do not bring it to a boil. It is enough only for the oil to become liquid. Then pour white dry wine into it.

6. Add all the spices and herbs, salt and pepper and pass the garlic through a press. Stir well to make a smooth sauce.
