Lettuce leaves go well with many products: cheese, fish, vegetables, meat, poultry … If you have not yet had time to appreciate the beauty of lettuce leaves, here is a recipe for an easy summer dish for dinner and snacks - a quick salad with lettuce and chicken. Such salads are not usually seasoned with mayonnaise. All sorts of sauces based on olive oil, yogurt and sour cream are used for dressing.

Since the festive meal is based on greens, it must be of good quality. To do this, you need to know some rules. The greens must be fresh, otherwise the salad will be spoiled. Determine freshness by examining the root part of the leaf. Greens packed in polyethylene quickly deteriorate and lose their beneficial properties. Better to give preference to packing greens in paper bags. Don't let the size of the leaves scare you. They have no meaning and have no effect on the final taste of the food.

  • Cucumbers - 1 pc.
  • Greens (dill, parsley) - a few twigs
  • Salt - 0.5 tsp

1. Wash lettuce leaves under cold running water and dry with a paper towel. Cut the greens with a knife or tear the leaves with your hands.

2. Boil the chicken fillet in advance or bake it in the oven. If you baked a whole chicken carcass, and no one wants to eat the breasts because of the dryness of this part of the bird, then use them for a salad. A salad with baked meat in foil or on a grill will be juicier and tastier. I do not recommend frying fillets, because the salad will turn out to be more nutritious, and the meat will be drier. Smoked chicken can be used if desired.
