This article provides a step-by-step guide to home hair lamination and tips for making a gelatin shampoo.

What is this procedure?

Hair lamination is a procedure for applying special products that form a special protective film on the strands. After this procedure, the hair becomes more shiny, manageable, strong and voluminous.

Why not do lamination at home? Indeed, in salons this procedure is not cheap, and this process is not at all complicated and does not take much time. But you will significantly save money and make your hair not only stunningly beautiful, but also healthy.

How to laminate hair at home: a recipe

To carry out this procedure, you will need:

  • Gelatin - 1 tbsp. l.
  • Hot water - 3-4 tbsp. l.
  • Balm or hair mask

Preparation of gelatin shampoo:

  1. Dilute gelatin with hot water and leave for half an hour.
  2. After this time has passed, add a little balm or mask to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
  3. Wash your hair, dry the strands with a towel, then apply the ready-made gelatin mixture, while it is important not to rub the mixture into the scalp, as the gelatin will tighten the skin.
  4. Put on a plastic cap and stand for 15 minutes, warming up with a hairdryer to enhance the effect of the substances.
  5. After warming up with a hair dryer, let it stand for another half hour.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with running water and let the head dry naturally, without using a hair dryer.

Why is this so useful?

  • Thanks to collagen, each hair thickens, which will be especially useful for thinned strands.
  • With regular use (1 time per week), the strands break and split less, and outwardly look more well-groomed.
  • A thin film formed as a result of lamination clogs up damage and cracks in the hair.
  • By making homemade gelatin lamination after dyeing the head, you can preserve the color of the strands for a longer time.
  • Hair is less traumatized after using irons, hairs and hair dryers for styling.

How long can I repeat the procedure?

The lamination procedure can take from 3 to 6 weeks. It all depends on the condition of the hair.

Surely you have heard about gelatinous shampoo, which is not inferior to many expensive shampoos due to its collagen content. And it's easier to prepare it simply:

  1. Pour a tablespoon of gelatin into a bowl.
  2. Pour half a glass of cold water over it.
  3. Let it brew for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat the swollen gelatin in a water bath, bring to complete dissolution.
  5. Add shampoo to the resulting gelatin mixture in a 1: 1 ratio.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool (it should be like jelly in consistency).

You can add oils to the prepared shampoo, which we described in detail in the article "Hair masks with gelatin". After adding healthy oils, mix everything thoroughly and pour into a convenient container, close the lid and send it to the refrigerator.

You can store this shampoo for up to a week. Use as a regular shampoo, if necessary, just sit for 5-7 minutes and then rinse.
